Bamboo is beautiful, what other benefits are there?
Well well well, did you know that Bamboo is quite simply a wonderful green resource that is hugely beneficial both to the way we want to live our lives, and to the environment. One of the main factors in our choice to manufacture Bamboo baby carriers is, Sustainability.Bamboo is amazing - it is one of the fastest growing plants in the world, it is a naturally prolific and resilient plant which doesn’t need fertilizers to boost it’s growth, or pesticides as Bamboo is naturally pest resistant. This is a giant leap forward from fabrics like cotton who’s crops need to be replanted at every harvest and require extensive spraying and watering to achieve optimal growth.
Bamboo is also:
Soft to the touch: envelops your body and baby in truly unparalleled comfort
Hypoallergenic: eco-friendly bamboo fibres will not irritate the skin and are gentler than many man made fibres, a natural solution for those with sensitive skin and perfect for tiny newborns and babies.
Breathable and thermo-regulating: stay comfortable whatever the weather and during your changing journey
More absorbent than cotton: helps to wick moisture away from the skin, perfect for breastfeeding mamas
Biodegradable: a greener material that will simply return to the Earth and achieved with sustainable supply, helping take a more cleaner and greener step towards your baby’s future. Our own signature fabric blend includes natural Linen for strength and comfort, wash after wash, your Sling will always remain strong and soft for a perfect fit every time. Our own signature fabric blend includes spandex for stretch and comfort, wash after wash, your Wrap will always stay true to shape and contour for a perfect fit every time.
Can I still wear comfortably after a c-section delivery?
Yes, as you tie your Wrap and wear your Sling under your bust, your baby sits high on your chest. Our fabrics are also super soft and the weight of the carry will be distributed evenly across your shoulders, not low or near your pelvic area. Please do take extra care when tying your wrap or wearing your sling, and keep in mind your wellbeing when wearing your baby.
Healthy Hips - I want a safe and comfortable carry for my baby, can you provide that?

My partner and I will both be wearing, does 'one size' really fit all?
We live and breath all things baby wearing and your little ones safety is our number one Yes, that's the beauty of an adjustable carrier we can assure any plus size wearer up to approximately Women's size 24 (Australia) OR Men’s size XXXL can carry comfortably with a Chekoh. Our Wraps are one of the shortest styles available at approx 4m length so smaller or petite wearers also find a comfortable fit without the added bulk.
My baby is due any day! Can I carry my baby from birth?
We recommend using your Chekoh Wrap from 3kgs so right from the beginning.Little ones love to be all cuddled in, heart-to-heart; and Babywearing provides the most womb-like environment they could be in. The will love to hear your heartbeat lullaby and you will love the hands free ease.If your newborn is under 3kg, born prematurely, or has any health issues, please consult with your paediatrician or doctor before beginning wear.
I've only just found you, is my baby too big for the wrap?
We recommend a weight range up to 8-10kgs or approximately 8-12mths old (you will find most of your wear will occur in the first 6-8mths) this will ensure a comfortable carry for both you and baby. However, if your baby is bigger or older than this; don’t dismay! Check out our Sling Carriers, which can carry up to 15kgs.
My baby arrived early, can I carry a premature baby safely?
Babywearing is perfect for your premmie baby, as the snug carry and mama’s heartbeat is the closest environment to inside the womb. Chekoh carriers have a 3kg minimum weight limit, so if your baby is below this weight, please consult with a medical professional to see if babywearing is a safe and healthy option for you and baby.

What is the safest carry style for my baby? Legs out? Forward Facing?
It is now recommended and supported by certified Babywearing Educators worldwide to have your baby’s legs out from birth. This will help distribute their weight through their bottom and not rest on their feet. This position also helps to keep their developing spine supported in the natural ‘C’ curve, so always ensure you create a nice deep seat for your little one, the bottom rail is sitting up firm against the back of baby’s knees and they are in a squat or ‘M’ position with their bottom positioned lower than their bent knees. We do not recommend a forward facing carry or back carry when using either of our carriers. Please only carry your baby as per the instructions included with your carrier.
We also have your comfort in mind so please ensure that your Wrap is tied tight and the fabric spread wide across your back with no twists or flips, and your Sling is cupped over your shoulder and the fabric spread wide across your back. Your baby should always be kept close and snug to your body and your carry should adhere to the T.I.C.K.S Safety Guidelines at all times.
I'm a breastfeeding Mama, can I nurse in my carrier?
You certainly can, and we encourage it. Our carriers are fully adjustable so always ensure you have baby in view and airways are clear at all times. We recommend a seated position for safety. Ensure your carrier is 100% secure. If you wish, you can also remove baby and utilise your it as a discreet feeding cover while on the go. Find out more HERE.
I'm blessed with doubles, can I carry twins in my carrier?
You can wear two babies in our Chekoh Wrap. Please note the minimum weight for wear is 3kgs each infant, and the maximum weight for two babies is 4kgs each infant. As this is an advanced carry style we do recommend consulting with a Babywearing Expert before attempting any Twin carries. Please contact us as info@chekoh.com for more assistance. Unfortunately we do not recommend carrying more than one baby in our Chekoh Sling at one time
Handle with care. How do I wash my carrier?
The care instructions can be found sewn inside the little "pocket" of the carrier. Long story short, all our Wraps and Slings are washed at our manufacturing facility prior to shipment. They're then packed into the 100% biodegradable garment bags you receive them in, so they're fresh and clean for you.
If you'd like to give your carrier a quick wash before use, we recommend popping it inside a large wash bag and then into the tub on a cold wash (no bleach!). Tumble dry on a low heat & gentle cycle and press with a warm iron if necessary.
We also suggest washing it separately the first time, just incase the colours aren't completely colourfast.
