Women of Chekoh: The Web Wizard

Posted by Nikki Roberts on

Well here we are, in the final part of our Women of Chekoh Trilogy, fittingly coming to a happy close on International Women’s Day 2017.

For our final contender, let me first paint a picture. Imagine you are Jack - you have some amazingly rare beans and just KNOW you will have the greatest most fruitful beanstalk, but you can’t get the water/sunlight/soil combo just right. Along comes Kira; a multi-faceted task-juggler, to use her beautiful brain to ensure all variables are analysed, strategised and controlled and that beanstalk just keeps thriving, steadily and heartily.

In a nutshell, this is Kira. She is the web that keeps everyone and everything together. Tiny in stature, Kira packs a big punch in the digital world and in the real world, customer to customer. Kira’s passion is in following through and ensuring a seamless experience for her clientele to receive a stellar outcome. Born and raised in Hobart, Tasmania, in a tiny town called Collinsvale, Kira set her sights on the city, and moved to Queensland in her tween years.

Initially studying the wonders of the prehistoric age, Kira somehow did an about turn and found herself aligned with Marisa, and together they birthed Everland Clothing. With Kira expertly navigating the intricacies of the digital world while bringing in the designs, the formidable duo built themselves an online success story.

When Ris turned her focus to photography and caught the eye of Chekoh’s Boss-Lady Krystal, it was simply a natural progression for them to move over as a clever package of two. When not dealing with HTML and coding or conducting international negotiations whilst sourcing product, Kira is about to be a New York bride to her long-time love Kierran. The two are parents to some incredibly cute fur babies, Fleetwood and Hendrix who will adorably feature as tuxedo-clad cardboard cutouts in their destination nuptials.

I asked Kira the very important questions to help paint the picture of Jack’s landscape management extraordinaire:

Me: What is your favourite song and why?

K: "My all-time favourite song is “Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve”. I just think it has all the elements of a classic hit. Plus, I was 11 when it came out, so right in that sweet spot where tastes are still malleable."

Me: As a teenager, whose posters were adorning your walls?

K: "I grew up in a household where blu-tack was one of the cardinal sins."

Me: In the spirit of International Women's Day, who do you admire/idolise and why?

K: "I’m going to pick a woman from different arenas that inspire me, as picking one is almost impossible.

Personal life - My mama.

Community - Leslie Knope (Parks and Recreation character)

Politics - Elizabeth Warren

Style - Nicole Richie

I admire all of these women for being strong and powerful and going against the grain of expectations set for them."

To Chekoh, Kira brings that sharpness; that on-the-ball situational awareness so imperative in an online, organically-grown brand. Go and marry your heart out, you incredible woman, but be sure to come back to our beanstalk.

XO

Nikki
