Why choose a Chekoh Clip Carrier?
Designed in Australia for everyday babywearing, the Chekoh Clip Carrier combines comfort, support and simple adjustability in one easy-to-use carrier. Designed to grow with your baby from the newborn stage through to toddlerhood, it offers a supportive hands-free way to keep your little one close at home and on the go.
What age can I use a Chekoh Clip Carrier from?
Chekoh Clip Carriers are designed to be used from newborn, subject to the minimum weight of 3.2kgs and correct newborn positioning. As your baby grows, the adjustable seat and carrier settings can be changed to provide appropriate support through each stage to a maximum of 20kgs.
Always follow the instructions for your specific Chekoh carrier and ensure your baby meets the requirements for your chosen carrying position.
What carrying positions does the Clip Carrier offer?
Depending on your Chekoh Clip Carrier model and your baby’s developmental stage, carrying options include inward facing, forward facing and back carrying.
Each carrying position has different developmental requirements. Our babywearing guides and video tutorials make it easy to understand when your baby is ready to move into their next carrying position and how to achieve the correct fit.
When can my baby face forward in a carrier?
Forward facing is a developmental stage rather than simply an age. Babies should have strong, independent head and neck control, sufficient upper-body and trunk strength, and be tall enough for their chin to safely clear the top of the carrier panel.
For babies who are developmentally ready, the Chekoh forward-facing Clip Carrier has been specifically designed to offer this additional carrying position while supporting considered positioning and fit.
Is the Chekoh Clip Carrier ergonomic?
Every Chekoh Clip Carrier is thoughtfully designed with ergonomic babywearing and wearer comfort in mind. Our carriers support appropriate positioning through baby’s hips, pelvis and body, with adjustable features allowing the fit to change as your baby grows.
Chekoh carriers are designed in accordance with recommendations from the International Hip Dysplasia Institute (IHDI), with safety, positioning and education considered throughout the design process.
Is the Chekoh Clip Carrier good for newborns?
Yes. The Clip Carrier can be a great option for parents wanting the closeness of babywearing with the convenience of a structured buckle carrier. The adjustable design allows the carrier to be fitted for smaller babies while supporting a close, inward-facing position during the newborn stage.
For the youngest babies, correct positioning is especially important, so we recommend following our newborn fitting tutorial before your first wear.
How do I get the right fit?
A correctly fitted baby carrier should feel secure and comfortable for both you and your baby. Your baby should be positioned high and close, with their face visible and airways clear, while the carrier provides appropriate support for their age and developmental stage.
We offer step-by-step tutorials, babywearing education and personalised fit support to help you get the most from your Chekoh Clip Carrier.
