All Chekoh carriers are endorsed by the Australian Babywearing Association (ABA), an Australian organisation dedicated to promoting safe, comfortable and informed babywearing.
This endorsement provides an additional level of independent review and reflects our ongoing commitment to safe babywearing, thoughtful carrier design and best-practice education.
Independently Tested to US Safety Standards
Australia currently has no mandatory product safety standard specifically for soft-structured baby carriers.
That's why we choose to independently test our carriers to the ASTM F2236 Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Soft Infant and Toddler Carriers.
Testing assesses important aspects of carrier safety, performance and durability, including the integrity of components, fastenings, seams and structural performance.
For us, meeting a recognised safety standard isn't simply about compliance — it's an important part of making products parents can carry their babies in with confidence.
Designed for Ergonomic Support
Every Chekoh carrier is thoughtfully designed to support baby's natural position and promote comfortable, ergonomic babywearing.
Our carrier designs follow the ergonomic positioning principles recommended by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute (IHDI), including appropriate support for baby's hips and thighs.
The IHDI no longer operates its previous carrier accreditation program following updated understanding around baby carriers and hip dysplasia. We continue to use its guidance on healthy hip positioning as an important consideration in our carrier design and babywearing education.
Safe Babywearing Starts With Education
We don't believe safety stops with the design of the carrier. That's why education is an integral part of every Chekoh product. We actively promote the T.I.C.K.S. principles for safe babywearing and incorporate safety guidance throughout our instruction manuals, online tutorials, educational content and post-purchase support.
